"The Kardashians" | S3 Ep7
The episode started with Mommy arriving at Auntie Kourt’s house. Auntie Kourt was getting a mani/pedi, but took a break to talk to Mommy about Dolce & Gabbana.
This is the 7th episode on this topic. If you’re still here, you might enjoy torture and should think about seeking professional help.
Mommy started the conversation by explaining that Dolce & Gabbana wanted to do something with SKIMS and she called Auntie Kourt to tell her about the collaboration. Auntie confirmed that the call did happen, but she never heard about it again after that open call. Mommy said she called her again to let her know that the SKIMS collaboration was not happening because they couldn’t get it together.
Mommy didn’t want to do a collection unless it was SKIMS. Then Dolce & Gabbana were planning on doing a show of their archives and they wanted Mommy to be the creative director. Dolce was planning on doing the archive collection with or without Mommy. Mommy claims she called Auntie Kourt to tell her that SKIMS wasn’t going to do the collection, but she’s still doing the show and invited Auntie Kourt to the show.
Auntie Kourt’s position is that Mommy doesn’t have to ask for her permission and that’s why on the call, she was confused about why Mommy was calling her. Was it to ask her for her permission? The deal was already done so why the call?
Had Mommy called Auntie Kourt before the deal was done to get her opinion, Auntie Kourt wasn’t sure what she would’ve said, but she was sure she would tell Mommy to do it. However, because it was her wedding she felt like Mommy’s collaboration with Dolce takes away from the specialness of her wedding day. Auntie Kourt felt like Mommy chose the money of her and she never truly asked her about her deal with Dolce.
For the recorded I would choose money over any of these people. Do you think I would turn down a bag for Uncle Rob??? Penelope??? Chicago?? Please.
Mommy brought up the fact that Kris did a deal for Auntie Kylie to be in a Dolce campaign and yet Auntie Kourt wasn’t mad at her. Auntie Kourt thought that was different because that was more of Kris’ doing and she would never expect Auntie Kylie to call her. Mommy felt like it was just something about her specifically and she couldn’t figure out what it was.
Auntie Kourt mentioned that the conversations about Mommy’s deal started at her wedding, but Mommy claims the conversations start at their fashion show. Kris Face-timed her and showed her a huge runway and Dolce said they wanted to do a book with her and they wanted her to be the creative director of their fashion show.
When Auntie Kourt was choosing a designer for her wedding, Dolce & Gabbana felt the most authentic to her because they go there every summer with paparazzi and ice cream: Living La Vida Dolce. All the things that were eventually in Mommy’s campaign.
Mommy got married in Italy and Andrea Bocelli performed at her wedding, just like Auntie Kourt. Auntie Kourt stole Mommy’s wedding country and her wedding performer, but Auntie Kourt was copying her Dolce Vida lifestyle.
I’m 10 and Chicago is 5. I promise you we can have a more mature conversation than whatever this is.
Mommy tried to tell Auntie Kourt that people thought that Dolce sponsored her wedding, but Auntie Kourt didn’t care because she didn’t choose Dolce for a financial reason. They presented new Dolce designs to her for her wedding, but she insisted on all the 90s archive looks. Her assistant spent two days with Dolce’s team insisting on 90s archives.
Mommy claimed that in 2017 her assistant made a PDF and Dolce flew into town and made her three archives looks, all with crystals. Mommy wore the white one to the Celine Dion concert. Dolce said they had never done their archives and this was before Auntie Kourt’s wedding. At the wedding, Mommy wore archive pieces she already owned. Dolce asked where she got her pieces because they didn’t even have those pieces in their own archives anymore. Then, when Mommy was curating the show, she did it without seeing Auntie Kourt’s mood board.
I styled Mommy in this crystal piece and I can confirm that we were working with Dolce archive pieces way before Auntie Kourt was even thinking about dating Travis, let alone a wedding. No one was doing archives before I stepped in and started curating Mommy’s looks, so it looks like Auntie Kourt and her stylists copied my mood board or as the law calls it, intellectual property infringement.
I find the lack of acknowledgment for my work and contributions to the fashion industry disrespectful. This is erasure!
None of these details interested Auntie Kourt. To her they didn’t matter, it was the way everything went down. Neither Kris nor Mommy called her to ask how she felt about the collaboration. She maintained that the look and feel of Mommy’s collaboration mimicked her wedding, but Mommy disagreed.
Auntie Kourt just wanted her own identity. Mommy assured her she had her own identity because no one in the family is trying to “rock out”.
The shade was so uncalled for but well-placed. Good one, Mommy.
Auntie Kourt posed the question to Mommy what is it about herself that she has to have everything and can’t stop? It was more than material, to Auntie Kourt it seemed to be about finances and accomplishments.
Mommy admitted that since she and Auntie Kourt had their physical fight everything has been awkward within the family. It had been so long since they had a family dinner, let alone a family trip. Auntie Kourt said she doesn’t have time to be around the family because of her kids and new husband. Auntie Kourt used to be mean when she was upset and now she just avoids everyone.
Mommy ended up apologizing for her choices that hurt Auntie Kourt and their relationship. Auntie Kourt thanked her for her apology and for acknowledging her.
I never want to hear the words Dolce or Gabbana for as long as I live! Put this storyline to bed already. Dragging this out is exactly why I refuse to be an executive producer on this show.
Next, Kris (and Corey) went to get a complete body scan at some medical office (do we really care where?). Kris had a birthday coming up and was thinking about her health.
Kris got a new hip last season, and this season she’s doing a body scan, I predict by season 4 she’ll have herself frozen to preserve herself so that in 400 years we can thaw her out.
She had to go in a tube for 55 minutes. Kris had no issues with being in a tube in fact she preferred it: “Throw me in a tube and turn on Hulu and I’m happy.”
Kris, Hulu already ordered another 20 episodes of the show. You don’t have to do this.
In a later scene, Kris came back to the office to get the results of her scan.
The scan didn’t find anything. Why are we doing this?
Back in Calabasas, Mommy went to her office where she found Auntie Khloe who just wrapped up a photoshoot. Mommy was an hour late to a meeting, she was having a hard day because of DadYe.
I think what’s really devastating is that she was an hour late to this meeting that took me months to set up and people flew in from out of the country to attend. My phone was blowing up because everyone was looking for her.
I sent her the following text after 10 of my calls went unanswered:
Hi. I understand you are having a tough day. I, of all people, know about tough days. My manicurist canceled at the last minute, I’m going through it too. But I also recognized that it’s not all about me. My work affects a lot of people which means when I’m late it also has an impact. Please make your way to the meeting as soon as possible. Do the meeting and then cry in a pile of SKIMS panties for all I care. Do whatever you want, but please show some professionalism and respect for people’s time.
Also, we’re out of juice in all of the refrigerators. Please have your staff restock.
It was confusing to her because DadYe was so different from the person she married. She would do anything to get that person back. Mommy felt bad for DadYe, and she wasn’t even sure he felt bad for himself. Mommy hadn’t spoken to him, but she felt guilty that she posted something in support of the Jewish community, and then brands started dropping DadYe.
Auntie Khloe said that no one in the family shared DadYe’s antisemitic views and that what Mommy did was not wrong. Nothing Mommy did had anything to do with what happened to DadYe. Auntie Khloe said that even she feels bad for her ex-husband Lamar (Odom) because he will be forever known as a drug addict and she felt bad for her baby daddy Tristan (Thompson) because no team in the NBA wanted him stinking up their gym.
I might have put a few words in Auntie Khloe’s mouth regarding Tristan
After she was done venting (wasting time and money), Mommy walked over to her meeting with designer Axel Vervoordt, who she met through DadYe. She was in the process of designer her new Malibu beach vacation home. Axel said that Mommy was such a warrior and she need to own the beams of an old Samurai’s house because it will bring her peace. He brought her the beam with the portrait of the old samurai that owned the home.
This woman is obsessed with owning dead people’s property.
In the next scene, Auntie Kourt and Auntie Khloe showed up at Mommy’s house because she had been having a hard time. Mommy was grateful for her family because they were always there for her.
Auntie Kourt announced that she was throwing Kris’ birthday party since Kris didn’t have any plans, which was unlike Kris. Auntie Kourt offered to host her birthday dinner at her home. Auntie Khloe thought that was nice and it would mean even more to Kris coming from Auntie Kourt.
Auntie Kourt thought it would be funny if everyone came to the party dressed like Kris Jenner.
The girls called Kris (on speaker phone) to tell her how nice it was that Auntie Kourt was throwing her a birthday party. Kris agreed and said that Auntie Kourt was her favorite child.
Yea, until another Dolce & Gabbana deal is on the table for Mommy.
Later, Mommy was hanging out with me and her other kids. Mommy claimed she was the one in the trenches and she was responsible for all the daytime and nighttime routines with her kids.
That’s interesting because I’m the one that had to potty train Sam and I had to attend a parent–teacher conference with Chi’s teacher, but please go on and tell us more about these trenches you speak of.
Next, Mommy showed Auntie Khloe her new beach home in Malibu. The plan was to do some renovations to make it her own. Mommy’s vision was for the home to be a party home, but also kid friendly. Auntie Khloe thought the house and the views were so beautiful.
The home represented all of Mommy’s hard work and now she gets to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She was excited for the new energy from the home and she was looking forward to making more memories for the entire family.
We had the ranch in Wyoming for the family to escape LA and now the Malibu house is for the family to make memories. Besides Kris’ house in Palm Springs, nobody else has a place the family can congregate at. When are other people in this family going to step up and buy something for the family to “make memories”? I’m tired of hosting these freeloaders on my properties.
Preparations were underway for Kris’ 67th birthday dinner at Auntie Kourt’s house. Kris knew about the party, but she didn’t know that everyone was dressing up like her. The entire family was in glam getting “Kris’d”.
Mommy begged me to be her plus one to this dinner since things were still tense with Auntie Kourt.
Mommy went to the dinner as the Kris from one of the family Christmas Cards and I went to the dinner as the Kris that orchestrated the Dolce & Gabbana deal that caused the feud between Auntie Kourt and Mommy. I also added wrinkles to my face and neck. I chose violence.
Soon, the family and other guests showed up to the dinner dressed as their favorite version of Kris. When Kris arrived she was stunned to see that everyone was dressed like her and they even had the famous Kris Jenner pixie cut.
The dinner menu consisted of all of Kris’ favorite dishes from various restaurants. A really nice touch by Auntie Kourt.
Unfortunately, everyone felt the need to make a speech at this dinner and each speech was an average of 8 minutes. And every time someone gave a speech for Kris, Kris felt called to give them a speech back. It was nauseating. I think I excused myself from the table while Faye Resnick was talking.
The night ended with Karaoke, but by then I was already back at home doing my nighttime skincare routine (with SKKN, of course!). I did hear that Kathy Hilton performed “Can We Talk” by Tevin Campbell. So sad I missed that.
